The Super Bowl is right around the corner and it’s time to starting planning the game day party! I am not a fan of football, or sports in general, but I always love a reason to have a party! Here are the food and decorations that I think I will be using this year. All these great ideas have got me really excited and I can’t wait to try them!
Archives for January 2016
One of my favorite things to do is organize. I like to have everything in my house and life organized at all times. I think it helps to get more things done and to be able to find everything that I need. One of my favorite ways to keep my life organized is with printables in my home binder.
This past week I have been working on making new printables for my binder. My old ones were starting to feel a little blah. So I figured it’s new year so I need new printables! I love this new design. Mostly because they are pink, clean and easy to read! Here are the new daily, monthly and a year at a glance printable calendars that I am using.
A few days ago Hubby decided that he was going to make dinner. This does not happen very often so when he told me that he found a recipe online called Taco Spaghetti and he was going to try it, I got a little nervous. Luckily, it turned out amazing! Plus, it only took him about 20-25 minutes to make and he didn’t even need my help! I got to just stand in the kitchen and watch (while looking at stuff on Pinterest). I suggested that he starts cooking dinner every other night but I don’t think he took me seriously because it hasn’t happened yet.
This is certainly not a new, original recipe. Magic Cookie Bars is a classic recipe that has been around for decades. But I still wanted to share how I make them because they are amazing! I call them Black & White Magic Cookie Bars because they are made with milk and white chocolate (milk & white or brown & white would be more accurate than black & white but those names just don’t sound right).
Recently I have been looking for cute DIY décor for my house and I have seen so many amazing wine bottle projects! So, I decided to make some of my own for my half bath makeover that I am working on this month. The first thing I had to figure out was how to remove the labels from the bottles. I tried a few different methods but this one worked the best and the labels came right off!
I love printables! Using printables and a home binder is a great way to keep everything organized and in one easy to find location. My home binder has to-do lists, cleaning schedules, meal plans, grocery lists, bill payment information, my debt pay off plan, maintenance schedules and so much more! These are a few of the handy printables that I use in my home binder and they have made my life so much easier!
My house goal for January is to do a mini-makeover on my half bath. Since this is the smallest room, and hopefully the easiest room I figured I would just do it and get it over with so I can stop thinking about it all time! I have been avoiding pretty much every room in my house because I can’t decide on paint colors so this is a good place to start.
These dinner rolls are amazing! I got this recipe from my mother in law and instantly fell in love with these rolls the first time I had them (I may have eaten 5 or 6 in one meal). After I had these rolls at her house a few times I went out and bought a bread maker just so that I would be able to make these at home, whenever I want them. Five years later, this is still the only thing that I have made in my bread maker (hopefully that will change soon because I want to try some new recipes).
I don’t know about you but I feel like I am constantly paying bills and I want to cry every bill pay day! I know I could simplify my life and cut out a lot of the luxuries like internet, cable and cell phone data but who wants to live without those things?! I don’t know if I could survive! These are a few things that I do to keep the cost down on my monthly bills so that I can still afford the things I enjoy.
I have A LOT of plans for my house this year! Most of it is just painting and décor but even doing just that can be expensive and overwhelming. To help keep my sanity, I use a project printable that allows me to list what I want to do and what my budget is.
