I rely heavily on meal planning. If I don’t plan out my meals weekly then I forget to pull forget to pull meat out of the freezer, don’t have the right groceries to make a complete meal and end up eating out way to much (which is really hard on my budget!). Every weekend I sit down and plan out my meals for the week and make a grocery list to avoid eating out or having a frozen pizza 5 days a week.
I tried a monthly meal plan before and that didn’t work for me. I was horrible at sticking to it and buying the right amount of groceries, so planning one week at a time works best for me!
Every Saturday or Sunday, before doing my weekly grocery shopping, I plan what we will eat for each meal during the week, through the following Sunday that way we will still be able to eat the next weekend if I don’t make it to the store. To save money, I always try to plan my meals around what food I have on hand already. I also check the weekly ads to see if there are any great deals that I should take advantage of. I don’t really do couponing (I tried that before and I was horrible at it!) but I do love in store sales!
Here is the printable that I use every week to stay on track with my meal plan and grocery budget:

As you can see, I like to keep it simple. There isn’t room for recipes to be written on here because I have a separate Pinterest board for any meals that I have planned for that week so all my recipes are in one easy to find location. This makes it so easy during the week so that I am not searching for a recipe!
I have tried several different meal plans and printables but this one has worked the best for me! Also, my grocery budget has been cut in half since I’ve been planning this way.
